Rainbow Sprinkle Challah

Prep Time: 15 min          Makes: 2 loafs        Total Time: 20 min

1 tbs active dry yeast
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup warm water
5 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/4 cup honey
1 cup rainbow sprinkles

1. Mix 1 tbs yeast and 1 tsp sugar into warm water letting sit until foamy, approximately 10 minutes
2. Stir together flour, salt and remaining sugar
3. Add vegetable oil, 3 eggs and honey to yeast mixture and stir until combined
4. Gently pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until dough begins to form.
5. Place dough on floured surface and kneed for 12 min
6. Gently add in 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles and kneed gently until  sprinkles are well dispersed
7. Add 1 tbs oil to large bowl and coat bottom and sides
8. Place challah into bowl covering with plastic wrap and a dish towel letting rise for 1 hr
9. Remove challah and divide into six equal pieces
10. Coat each piece of challah with remaining sprinkles and kneed gently to set sprinkles
11. Roll each piece of challah between hands creating six long strands
12. Take three strands and pinch the tops together to connect
13. Braid strands until ends are reached, pinching together and turning ends under to finish.
14. Repeat with remaining strands to form second loaf of challah
15. Cover and let challah rise 30 min
20. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
21. Cook challah on for 30 min
